Proverbs 24

 

 

Pro 24:1  Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.

Pro 24:2  For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.

Pro 24:3  Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:

Pro 24:4  And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

Pro 24:5  A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

Pro 24:6  For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

Pro 24:7  Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.

Pro 24:8  He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.

Pro 24:9  The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

Pro 24:10  If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

Pro 24:11  If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;

Pro 24:12  If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

Pro 24:13  My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:

Pro 24:14  So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

Pro 24:15  Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:

Pro 24:16  For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

Pro 24:17  Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

 

 

 

Pro 24:18  Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

Pro 24:19  Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked;

Pro 24:20  For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.

Pro 24:21  My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:

Pro 24:22  For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?

Pro 24:23  These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.

Pro 24:24  He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:

Pro 24:25  But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.

Pro 24:26  Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.

Pro 24:27  Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.

Pro 24:28  Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.

Pro 24:29  Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.

Pro 24:30  I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

Pro 24:31  And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.

Pro 24:32  Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.

Pro 24:33  Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

Pro 24:34  So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

Multitude of Counselors – those who have salvation

Pro 24:6  For by wise counsel <08458>  thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

 

Pro 11:14  Where no counsel <08458>  is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

 

Pro 20:18  Every purpose is established[dhh1]  by counsel: and with good advice <08458> make war.

 

Pr 15:22  Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude <07230> of counsellors <03289> they are established.

 

Pro 12:20  Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counselors <03289> of peace is joy.

 

Psa 119:24  Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.

 

Who/what are the testimonies / counsellors? …. Those who “speak of thy testimonies”

Could it be they are the multitude of those who bring the testimonies of God?   Very Possible …

Psa 119:46  I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.

Deu 4:45  These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Moses spake unto the children of Israel, after they came forth out of Egypt,

 

Are they the multitude of scriptures / words?   No … not really ….. The Pharisees had the multitude of scriptures, but they had no “eternal life” (safety)

Joh 5:39  Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

 

Multitude of people …

Pro 14:28  In the multitude <07230> of people is the king's honour[dhh2] : but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.

 

 

The key to understanding the multitude of counselors  is the word “safety”

Psa 37:39  But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

 

Psa 40:16  Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.

 

Isa 45:17  But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

 

Isa 46:13  I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.

 

In the multitude of Zion / Israel / the Elect, there is salvation ….

Genesis 13:13  But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.

 

Numbers 16:38  The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are hallowed: and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.

 

1 Samuel 15:18  And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.

 

Psalms 1:1  Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

 

Psalms 1:5  Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

 

Psalms 25:8  Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

 

Psalms 26:9  Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:

 

Psalms 51:13  Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

 

Psalms 104:35  Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.

 

Proverbs 1:10  My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

 

Proverbs 13:21  Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.

 

Proverbs 23:17  Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long.

 

Isaiah 1:28  And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.

 

Isaiah 13:9  Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

 

Isaiah 33:14  The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

 

Amos 9:10  All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.

Hebrews 7:26  For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

 

Hebrews 12:3  For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

 

James 4:8  Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

 

Jude 1:15  To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Beauty of Holiness

Psa 96:9  O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.

 

Psa 29:2  Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
