land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great <3173>
affliction <2347>: and our fathers found no sustenance.
Bible Lesson 2 (David) –
“I shall not want”
Pro 22:16 He that oppresseth the poor to
increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall
surely come to (lack) want.
Pro 28:27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
A contrast: Those that oppress the poor vs those that give to the poor …
The elect (those that give to the spiritually poor)
shall not lack … they have all things (Christ)
Jdg 19:19 Yet there is both straw and provender for our asses; and there
is bread and wine also for me, and for thy handmaid, and for the young man which
is with thy servants: there is no (lack) want of any thing.
Jdg 19:20 And the old man said, Peace be with thee; howsoever let
all thy (lack) wants lie upon
me; only lodge not in the street.
Jdg 18:10 When ye go, ye shall come unto a people secure, and to a large
land: for God hath given it into your hands; a place where there is no (lack) want of any thing that is in the
earth.
Psa 23:1 <A Psalm of David.> The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not (lack)want.
Psa 34:9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no (lack)want to them that fear him.
Psa 34:10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they
that seek the LORD shall not (lack)want any good thing.
The elect have all things … they do not lack
anything. “All Things = Christ”
2Pe 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of
God, and of Jesus our Lord,
2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and
godliness, through the knowledge
of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Php 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
The wicked lack/want …
Pro 21:5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness;
but of every one that
is hasty only to (lack) want.
Pro 24:34 So shall thy poverty come as
one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
Pro 13:25 The righteous eateth to the
satisfying of his soul: but the belly
of the wicked shall (lack) want.
Eze 4:16 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff
of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and
they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment:
Eze 4:17 That they may want bread and water, and be astonied
one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.
Virtuous woman – “shall have no need / want”
Pro 31:11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no (lack) need of spoil.
The wicked - “they lack/want all things”
Jer 44:16 As for the word that thou hast
spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee.
Jer 44:17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth
forth out of our own mouth,
to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto
her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the
cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no
evil.
Jer 44:18 But since we left
off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings
unto her, we have (lack) wanted all things, and have been consumed
by the sword and by the famine.
