Isaiah 2

Isa 2:1  The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem[dhh1] .

Isa 2:2  And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

Isa 2:3  And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD[dhh2] , to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Isa 2:4  And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Isa 2:5  O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.

Isa 2:6  Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.

Isa 2:7  Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots:

Isa 2:8  Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:

Isa 2:9  And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not.

Isa 2:10  Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty.

Isa 2:11  The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

Isa 2:12  For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

Isa 2:13  And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,

Isa 2:14  And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up,

Isa 2:15  And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall,

Isa 2:16  And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures.

Isa 2:17  And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

Isa 2:18  And the idols he shall utterly abolish.

Isa 2:19  And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.

Isa 2:20  In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;

Isa 2:21  To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.

Isa 2:22  Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?

Bible Lesson:  (15 Minutes) by David Hunter - “Skin of my Teeth”

Anatomy of Teeth              Wicked - Rotten Teeth        Elect   Washed Teeth

The teeth are identified with true believers and the skin typifies a covering for the teeth.  The spiritual story here is that the true believers are covered by Christ (have their sins washed away) and they are escaped from the local churches.

Job 19:17 My breath is strange to my wife, though I intreated for the children's sake of mine own body.
Job 19:18
Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spake against me.
Job 19:19
All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.
Job 19:20 My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh,
and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.
Job 19:21
Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.
Job 19:22
Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

Song of Songs speaks about teeth being like a flock that is “washed” … just like a saved person who has their sins washed away.

Song 4:2  Thy teeth are like a flock of sheep that are even shorn, which came up from the washing; whereof every one bear twins, and none is barren among them.

Song 6:6  Thy teeth are as a flock of sheep which go up from the washing, whereof every one beareth twins, and there is not one barren among them.

The skin is a covering for the body of Christ (flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone).

Bones - The body of Christ – Ephesians 5

The bones (true believers) cleaveth to the skin (Christ) …

Job 19:20  My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.

Eph 5:30  For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

Ac 11:23  Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

Skin covering …

Gen 3:21  Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them[DH3] .

Clothed with skin …. Granted life

Job 10:11 Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews.

Job 10:12 Thou hast granted me life and favor, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.

Valley of Dry Bones … clothed with skin … shall live

Ezekiel 37:5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones[DH4] ; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

Ezekiel 37:6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin< H5785>, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

Ezekiel 37:7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

Ezekiel 37:8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.

Ezekiel 37:9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

Ezekiel 37:10  So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

To escape …

Job 19:20 My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.

Psa 124:7  Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
